The Katrina Clutch

I’ve had a new bag design floating around in my head for a while and this weekend I actually made it happen.  And then I made it again, 3 more times!  It’s a really simple bag, just a rectangle shape and you fold it over to close it.  It came together really fast, except for the flower part.  I hand stitched the flowers on and as my embroidery skills are basic at best, that part took me quite a long time.  I absolutely love the wool fabric I made these out of and wish I could get more but I got it at a thrift store so I guess going back to buy more is out of the question.  This was my first time using elastic cording and I have to say as much as I love the finished product that stuff is a pain to sew!

The first one I made I think I might keep for myself so I never ended up taking pictures of it.  It’s basically the same as the other three only instead of stitching around the flower petal leaves I only did a few stitches in the center of the flower.  Not sure if I’ll change that yet or not as I really love the look of the hand stitching.

All three of these Katrina Clutches are up in the shop!  And in case you’re wondering, the clutch is named after Trav’s beautiful cousin Katrina!
